Coyote Volleyball Dominates All Season Long

Chandler, Arizona--  It has truly been a special year for the CGCC Coyote Volleyball program. In his first year at the helm of the Coyotes, Jeff Nelson not only assembled an incredibly talented team, but overcame much adversity en route to the first outright ACCAC championship in the programs history and, from what we have researched, the first outright conference championship in school history.

Jazmyn Tate has been named the ACCAC Conference Player of the Year as voted by the coaches of the conference.  She has been a leader all year in the League and also has been nationally ranked in kills per game all season.  She is a captain and has helped lead the Yotes to their first ACCAC Conference Championship.

 
Celestial Miller has been named to the 6 member First Team All Conference Team and is the other Captain for the Yotes. She has been among the nations leaders in hitting all season as well. Celestial is also one of the top servers in the league.  
 
Amara Horton was named to the Second Team All ACCAC Team and has led the league in assists  per game all season.  Amara also has been ranked in the top three nationally in assists. She too is a top server in the league. All three were Named to the NJCAA All Region 1 Team for the 2021 season.
 
Coach Nelson was named Coach of the Year in the ACCAC for what has been the best season at CGCC in years and their first ever conference championship.
 
The Yotes return to action Thursday night at 7 pm in the NJCAA Region 1 Tournament which will be hosted by CGCC. They hope to compete for a spot at the NJCAA National Championship Tournament!
