Chandler-Gilbert Community College Names Nathan Fairchild Head Women’s Soccer Coach
Chandler, AZ — Chandler-Gilbert Community College Athletics is proud to announce the hiring of Nathan Fairchild as the new Head Coach of the Women’s Soccer Program, bringing more than 16 years of leadership in education and an extensive, nationally respected coaching résumé to the Coyotes.
Fairchild joins the CGCC family after a distinguished career within the Chandler Unified School District (CUSD), where he served as a classroom teacher, Dean and Athletic Director at Hamilton High School, Assistant Principal, and ultimately Principal of Bogle Junior High School. He currently serves as a Training Specialist for Perdoceo Education Corporation, continuing his commitment to professional development and educational excellence.
On the pitch, Fairchild brings over two decades of elite coaching experience across youth, high school, Olympic Development Program (ODP), and collegiate-pathway environments. His Arizona club coaching career began with Arizona Futbol Club, followed by extensive leadership roles with Legacy Soccer Club and Real Salt Lake Arizona (RSL-AZ). He currently serves as Assistant Director of the RSL-AZ South Program and Director of the DPLO Program, while also coaching multiple RSL-AZ girls’ teams at the national and elite regional levels.
Fairchild has coached athletes across ECRL, DPL, and DPLO platforms, served as an Age Group Director, and held multiple Director of Coaching positions. His experience also includes ODP head coaching roles and instructing state-level USSF licensing courses.
At the high school level, Fairchild led Hamilton High School’s Girls Varsity Program as Head Coach and served for several years as an assistant with the boys varsity team—further reinforcing his ability to build competitive programs grounded in culture, discipline, and development.
As a player, Fairchild competed at the highest levels of the sport. He played professionally in the A-League and NPSL, and enjoyed a standout NCAA Division I career at James Madison University, earning All-Conference First Team honors, multiple regional accolades, and competing in the NCAA Tournament all four seasons, including a quarterfinal run.
“I am thrilled to join the CGCC family after serving the Chandler/Gilbert community for many years in the classroom and on the pitch,” said Fairchild. “I look forward to continuing the strong tradition of educational and athletic excellence with the CGCC Women’s Soccer Program. Our student-athletes will be champions in the classroom, on the pitch, and in our community.”
Fairchild holds an extensive list of coaching credentials, including the USSF B License, NSCAA Advanced National License, National Youth License, and multiple technical and goalkeeper certifications. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in English from James Madison University and a Master’s degree in Administrative Leadership from Grand Canyon University.
Nathan and his wife Sarah are the proud parents of four daughters—Taegan, Quinn, Paisley, and Finley.
CGCC Athletics is excited to welcome Coach Fairchild and looks forward to the continued growth and success of the Women’s Soccer program under his leadership.
